Too Much TV?

yogosrallys spongebob_1

Okay, I think, maybe... Sean watches too much television. (Alright, I know he watches too much.) The other day he came proudly into the room to announce to me that he knows all the SpongeBob shows. I looked at him and said, "Well, you know what that means, don't you?". Oh, the look of terror. He looked down and said, "Yes." I said, "What?". He said, "I don't want to talk about it." He knew that he had just given me ammunition for restricting t.v. time.

Then there was the commercial for Rally's. He came in the kitchen over the weekend with change in his hand. He started explaining to me that Rally's has 99 cent Rallyburgers and 79 cent creamy chocolate milkshakes. He showed me his hand and said, "So, here's 79 cents, can I get a milkshake?" Unfortunately, he meant right then. I told him no, but I was really curious about the money in his hand so I asked him to give it to me. I counted it. Sure enough, in dimes, nickels and pennies, he had counted 79 cents from his treasure chest of coins. We did find out later that our Rally's does not have 79 cent milkshakes.

On Monday, he asked me if I could buy some Yogos when I go to the store. I'm thinking he's found a new snack food that he'd like to eat. But then he started explaining to me that inside the box, there are cards worth 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or even 100 dollars. He went on to say, "Millions will play, but only thousands will win. So I think I will win."

Oh brother. I don't know which is worse, that he is watching all of these commercials on Nickelodeon or that he has his father's annoying ability to memorize things from t.v.

When Jeff and I first dated, I thought he was kind of witty. He had some little sayings, like "Campers, it's 9:30 and that's lights out time..." and others. And then we watched Meatballs one night... and after listening to several of the lines, I looked at him like I just realized that I was dating Bill Murray. That has not been in his favor for 21+ years since I think that most, if not all, of Bill Murray's roles are rather perverted. Or at least the roles I've seen him in.

LOL, I posses that uncanny ability also.
Unlike young Sean though, I have never watched a lot of t.v.
My Daddy (yes, at 14 I still call him Daddy, what of it?)
is an actor, and I've inherited that weird ability to remember lines from movies, stand-up etc.
It's so funny, cos my friends always stare at me after I say something, and ask what movie that was from, and what year did it come out. It's quite funny when my word are actually, well, my words.
Maybe Sean should get into theatre, he'd probably love it!
I'm following his blog, too, btw.
I wish I had a blog when I was 6.
Also, I'm praying for Callie to get past her rough times, and see the light at the end of the tunnel, amen?
Please, Mrs. Schneider, would you check my blog out sometime?
In Christ,
Jillian
