Ok, so this was last year and I am not sure if I posted it or not but since I found it in my drafts folder…. thought I’d post it just in case I had not. The butterfly exhibit has been our favorite attraction at the zoo. We did not go this year.

Sierra: When I grow up I want to be princess. Do you have to go to college to be a princess?
Mom: No, you don’t have to go to college.
Sierra: What do you have to do to become a princess?
Mom: Well, you kind of have to be born to a king or queen.
Sierra (looking at me with disappointment): Oh.
Mom: Sorry we can’t help you out with that.
I enjoyed some photography time a couple weeks ago as we cared for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law’s home, flowers, pets, flowers, pool and flowers. Did I mention the flowers? She has a lot. Beautiful. And butterflies. Lots. Of. Butterflies. I think they must have required tons of water during this summer’s drought. Here are some of my favorite pics from the week.
Yes, I know these are not flowers but the deer visited regularly.
We visited the pool a few times… it was a HOT week.
So this is what the person who was driving a truck that hit my life-long friend who was on her motorcycle and put her in critical condition looks like.
A habitual traffic violator driving intoxicated on a revoked license.
Since it is at least his fourth arrest for drinking and driving, do you suppose it matters to him now that he nearly killed someone or does he just have that much of a blatant disregard for the law and human life?
I hope justice is served this time.
Although it’s been too hot and humid to even go out most days, the kids have played in the water some this summer. We are looking forward to house/pool/pet sitting next week so will get some more swimming in weather permitting.
The slip and slide can have its setbacks. She did not cry or even whine when she did this.
Only two weeks until school starts. In the meantime… some pictures of nature in our own backyard.
Callie found this cicada in the process of coming out of its shell. We kept the dog from eating it while the kids watched. Then they put it back so it could dry its wings.
